Team Formation
Team Formation is a vitally important process that all RFC registered players u6s to u18, Mixed & Girls) MUST go through to enable the club to efficiently, effectively and equitability form our 2025 teams with consideration of appropriate level of player experience and skill; previous team history; recognition of ‘play with friends requests’ (as far as possible); effective team size and nomination of teams to appropriate levels of competition.

Player Grading
What to Bring to Team Formation & Player Grading Sessions

Normal training clothes.

Running Shoes ONLY. (NO boots)

Shin Pads required.

Hat, sunscreen & water bottle.

Jimmy’s Smash Burgers will be onsite selling burgers & drinks.

At the start of each age group session there will be a brief and very important Parents’ Meeting to provide vital club information to you.

Player Grading
Player Grading (individual) is an important part of that process for players in u10s – u18s. For these age groups, final teams are not selected just on player grading outcomes. However the information collected in Player Grading sessions is a significant input to the Team Formation variables leading to final team compositions.
All players (U6 - U18s) are needed to attend participate in their Team Formation / Player Grading Session (see schedule below). If your child is unable to attend for their scheduled session please complete the below Unable to attend team Formation & Grading Day form.
If your child wishes to play in a higher age group then their indicated birth age group, please complete the below form and we will be in contact with you to discuss.

Players in U21s, All Age & Over Age teams (Men’s & Women’s) will receive start of season advice from individual team / club officials relevant to individual teams & age groups.
